OPENING: Extra Place and Heidi
Come July 25, a little piece of Europe comes to Extra Place, the East Village’s best kept secret and historic alleyway located of the Bowery at East 1st Street. Extra Place, a namesake restaurant serving Mediterranean fare, and Heidi, a Swiss eatery are intimate, farm-to-table restaurants – both from the same owner – offering traditional cuisine of their respective regions made with local, high-quality ingredients. Mediterranean döner will take center stage on the menu at Extra Place, with varieties of that cross country borders. Extra Place will take traditional döner cuisine to the next level with meats sourced from well-known vendors including Niman Ranch and Bo Bo Poultry, and bread will be made in-house daily with organicflour sourced from a mill in Vermont. As a counterpoint to Extra Place, comforting, rustic Swiss cuisine will be served at neighboring Heidi. A variety of regional dishes will be served tableside and representative of Switzerland’s German, Italian and French Influences. Be one of the first to dine at these two incredible, Europe-influenced restaurants!
